Standing at the Panama Canal, watching the ships moving between oceans. We saw what happens when imagination is taken seriously.
Centuries ago, Leonardo da Vinci sketched ideas about controlling water and lifting movements through levels.
He had a vision. He was not building for his time- he was building for the future. Those kind of early ideas reminds us that innovation often begins long before it becomes useful.
For our Future Visionaries, this is a real lesson.
When a child draws something or imagines something that doesn't exist as yet, they are practicing the same kind of thinking that eventually leads to real-world innovation. Not every idea will be built, but every idea strengthens the ability to think differently.
The Panama Canal shows what happens when imagination is supported over time: ideas become systems, and systems become world- changing infrastructure.
If our students learn anything from this trip, it is thinking is not small work. It is the beginning of their journey as Future Visionaries.
